DETAILS Protest Dick Cheney visit, June 16, 2010     4:30-5:45PM at Bayfront Convention Center

FOCUS Although there is a lot to protest about Cheney , group seemed to agree that his criminality should be the major point:. Participants will have their own messages on signs, but the sponsored event will focus on Cheney’s criminality. As Dr Corbin Fowler says, “We don’t want to protest his right to speak, but he should be doing it from prison • Broke US law • Broke international laws • Torture is illegal

VISUALS Keep it simple. Cheney in Orange jumpsuit (Jenn contact Rich regarding mask, Deb putting out call for orange jumpsuit) Iconic Abu Ghraib hooded and wired figure, Satar Jabar(Deb will get that together)

LOCATION Exact location may have to wait for the date. Try for entrance to Bayfront Convention Center, but Bayfront & State, Dobbins Landing, also possibilities.

PUBLICITY Deb will work on flyer and will notify out of town groups and sites (eg Thomas Merton Center) Media advisory needs to be written.

POLICE EPJC wants to contact the police to let them know event will be peaceful and legal. Jenn will contact.

LETTERS Encourage people to write letters to editor prior to event. SIGNS Encourage people to make signs for the event. Messages should be simple and easy to read. Focus on communicating to media and public, not the attendees at the Bayfront Center.
