The Meadville Women in Black group, which has held regular vigils since 2004, will be taking a break this winter. Vigils will begin again in the spring of 2012.
For several years, the group gathered every Saturday in Diamond Park, braving all kinds of weather--and for a time some fairly intense harassment. In recent years they have gathered on the first Saturday of the month.
The group displays white flags with gold stars, each one representing a Pennsylvania servicemember killed in the Iraq War.
Information (814)572-4239.
